Bucket List

In August 2011 I wrote a blog post about having a bucket list. Since then I have been receiving lots of emails saying that I should have a page dedicated to it and as I cross them off you guys can read about them. If any of you brilliant people out there can help me achieve any of these, your kindness would be appreciated!

So in no particular order….

1. Go to Alaska

2. Set foot on all continents

3. Travel to Paris COMPLETED - June 2012

4. Go to Times Square

5. Fly First Class

6. Start a charity

7. Go to an airport and buy tickets for a random flight

8. Learn sign language

9. Drink coffee in Seattle

10. Complete a Man vs Food challenge

11. Reach Everest base camp

12. Touch an iceberg

13. Feed a Koala

14. Own a typewriter

15. Go to Glastonbury Festival

16. Bungee Jump COMPLETED – July 2007

17. Visit Petra

18. Meet Aung San Suu Kyi

19. Touch the megaliths at Stonehenge

20. Get an article published in a leading UK newspaper

21. Publish my Tibet book

22. Run a marathon

23. Have my own photographic exhibit COMPLETED – May 2012

24. Live in London (for at least a few months) COMPLETED – 2011 and 2012

25. Reach 50,000 hits on my blog COMPLETED – January 2013

26. Graduate COMPLETED – July 2010

27. Learn Hindi

28. Go to the Olympics COMPLETED – August 2012

29. Go back to India COMPLETED – September 2010 (Always added back to the list once its done though)

30. Drive across America in a VW Camper Van

31. Own a Billingham camera bag COMPLETED – July 2012

The key thing when writing your own bucket list is not to look back and regret what you haven’t done or missed opportunities. Avoid asking what happened or how you could have kept hold of something you loved or you’ll end up crying in the fetal position inhaling chocolate like air. Rather look forward and imagine what you could do and who you could be.

  3. Awesome! I have a bucket list of my own as well and I’m excited to get each of them done! :) It’s really cool that you want to meet Aung San Suu Kyi. A very remarkable woman. :) I like #2 the most! Maybe I can borrow that and add it to my list as well. :D I hope you complete this and make another one soon! :)

  4. I just started following your blog!!! The Bucket List Page is an excellent idea – I’m so glad that we connected over the “blogger miles.” Happy New Year. Looking forward to the adventures that are awaiting us in 2013…
